About Ali Cohen, LMHC

Therapy that helps you make sense of yourself

Sometimes the hardest part is not knowing why certain patterns keep showing up. You may understand that you overthink, people-please, shut down, take criticism personally, or struggle to follow through, but still feel unsure how to change it.

I’m Ali Cohen, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout Massachusetts. I help people better understand the connection between their experiences, the way their mind works, and the patterns affecting their lives today.

My background includes years of work in both clinical mental health and special education. That experience shaped the way I approach therapy: with patience, curiosity, and the belief that there is usually a reason someone is struggling. Rather than seeing people as a list of symptoms, I focus on understanding the full picture.

My Approach

My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative, while also honest and practical. Therapy with me is a space to slow down and look at what has been feeling confusing, overwhelming, or stuck.

Together, we may explore how ADHD, anxiety, family dynamics, relationships, and earlier experiences have shaped the way you see yourself and respond to the world. We will also build practical tools for managing emotions, setting boundaries, improving communication, and making changes that feel realistic in everyday life.

I believe insight matters, but insight alone is not always enough. My goal is to help you understand yourself more clearly while also finding ways to move forward differently.

Who I work with

Many of the adults I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years feeling overwhelmed behind the scenes. They may be navigating ADHD, anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, relationship patterns, or the lasting impact of growing up misunderstood or emotionally unsupported.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you are ready to better understand what has been getting in your way, I would be glad to connect.
