Ali Cohen, LMHC

I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, often despite trying really hard to hold everything together. Many of my clients are used to being capable and responsible, yet internally feel anxious, discouraged, or unsure of their next step. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to perform, fix everything on your own, or have the “right” answers.

My approach is warm, intuitive, and deeply relational. I blend evidence-based practices like CBT and ACT with trauma-informed care, always tailoring the work to your unique history, nervous system, and strengths. I believe insight is powerful, but insight paired with compassionate, practical action is what creates lasting and sustainable change.

I bring experience from both formal and informal clinical settings, including work in schools, hospital environments, and community-based care. For the past four years, I’ve worked in community mental health, where I’ve supported individuals navigating complex challenges and diverse life circumstances. That experience has strengthened my ability to adapt, think creatively, and collaborate with clients to find supports and strategies that truly fit their lives, not just what looks good on paper.

Clients often tell me they feel safe exploring painful patterns while also feeling gently encouraged to grow. I value honesty, curiosity, and building a therapeutic relationship where you can be fully human, messy, thoughtful, resilient, and evolving.
